Good for marketing, some setup time

I recently signed up for the Marketing Hub Professional plan, taking advantage of the annual billing discount. The features for email marketing and landing page building are really robust, and I've seen a noticeable improvement in our lead capture. Delivery of the service itself was instant, of course, being software. The customer support during initial setup was helpful, though it took a bit longer than I expected to get everything integrated with our existing website. It's a powerful tool, but definitely requires a time investment to get the most out of it. Overall, a solid platform for marketing efforts.

CRM works well

I got the free CRM Platform. It's easy to use and helps manage contacts. No issues setting it up. It does what I need for basic contact tracking.

Does Hubspot integrate well with WordPress? Like for blog posts and contact forms and stuff?

C Cleo 1 month ago
Yep, there's a plugin for it. Works pretty seamlessly for forms and analytics tracking.

I've got it running on my WordPress site. The plugin makes it easy to add forms and track visits. You can even publish blog posts directly from HubSpot if you want, though I usually stick to WordPress for that.

Thinking of switching from Mailchimp for my email stuff. How does Marketing Hub compare? Is it worth the hassle of migrating?

M Megan 1 month ago
Way more powerful. Mailchimp is good for just newsletters but Hubspot's automation and lead scoring is on another level. Definitely a learning curve though.

I moved from Mailchimp last year and it was a bit of a project to get everything set up, but totally worth it. The way it ties into the CRM is huge for seeing who's opening what and how that affects their journey. Plus, the landing page builder is way better.

Anyone know how to actually get that 90% off startup discount? Is it just for like, VC-backed companies or can any new small biz apply?

N Nick 1 month ago
Nah, it's not just for big fancy startups. As long as you meet their criteria for being a startup (usually less than 5 years old, under a certain funding threshold), you can apply. I got it for my micro-SaaS.

You gotta apply through their HubSpot for Startups program, it's not just a code you can plug in. They look at your company age and funding. Check their site for the exact requirements, but it's pretty generous if you qualify.

Is the free CRM actually good enough for like, a super small business? Or is it just a taste to make you buy the paid stuff?

M Mike E. 1 month ago
Yeah it's legit for small stuff. My friend uses it for his freelancing and it covers all the basics without bugging him to upgrade constantly.

It's decent for basic contact management and a little bit of email. Don't expect fancy automation or super deep reporting though, that's where the paid tiers kick in. But for just keeping track of leads and initial outreach, it's pretty solid.

I'm looking at their Sales Hub, but Pipedrive seems a bit cheaper. Is Hubspot worth the extra money for a small sales team?

G Gwen Z. 2 months ago
Pipedrive is good for just pipeline management. But Hubspot connects everything, from initial lead in Marketing Hub to closing in Sales Hub, then customer service. If you need that whole lifecycle view, it's better.

We used Pipedrive before switching to Sales Hub. Pipedrive was fine for just tracking deals, but Hubspot's automation for follow-ups, meeting scheduling, and especially the reporting is way more robust. It depends on how much you want your sales efforts tied into other business functions. If you're planning on using their marketing or service tools eventually, go Hubspot.
